VIDEO- Building a Vintage Wardrobe Part 2 (Measurements, fit, and sizing.)

Well, my sweet oldest boy did it yet again! He persevered through putting up another video. I did take him supper and treats, but I still feel badly about him having to help his techno-challenged old mum. I mean, all I did was get lots of lovings from the new puppy and my grand-ferret while he did all the work! (I smelled like a wild animal by the time I left! ;) But I am so thankful that he is willing to help me.

I got some very kind comments about my first video, as well as encouragement for sharing another. Thank you, Dear Readers, you are the reason I keep going on! And I want to say that my middle son told me that he watched my first video. He said that it was good and he was proud of me. Okay, pausing for a little bit of a teary eye...the fact that my kids know how hard it is for me to put myself out there is huge to me. And that they are proud of me when I go beyond my comfort zone and be brave...well, that just about makes my heart pop! So enough blabbering on, you are here to see a video about vintage clothing, not hear me be sappy and sentimental! If you are at all interested in wearing vintage clothing I hope that you can get something from this. Thank you, dearies!

  2. Woman! You have surely found your calling girl! You ain't nothin but as cute as you ever could be. I love that you mentioned the tape measure in your purse. I have done his too, but I must confess to never having used it for clothing, only for interior design stuff. So now I'm gonna go and remeasurw my body because I have become a hot more fluffy in the past fee years. I was super thin and the same size for most of my life, then the divorce diet (smile) I was never more thin and then I gained a few pounds. I'd love for you to talk about size for women and being happy and knowing flattering areas of ones body to accentuate our positives and camouflage our not so flattering. For instance, like my momma always likes to cover her knees because like she thinks, she has always been conscious of her knee caps. Like me, I am now very much conscious of my bicep area, but accentuate my tiny waist. Oh goodness... I really talked a bunch... But anyway, I absolutely love love love your videos dear Sam. Thank you peanut!

    1. Thank you so much, sweet lady! I like the idea of getting more "fluffy", my sons tell me I need to be more padded to be a proper granny when the time comes. I like fluffy better than padded! ;) And yes, I would love to do one that shows how to flatter different body types...maybe I could even have other folks in my video, like friends and daughters-in-law. Then you could see all my lovies! We all have such different shapes, but all can be equally beautiful, especially if you can find the right style for your body. Thanks for your encouragement, dear!

  5. Ohhhh, this was VERY helpful!!! I am absolutely going to have to take my measurements and write them down, and those of my teen daughter as well. AND I need a tape measure to carry in my purse! There us a thrift shop in our town that has no changing rooms—this would help us SO much! And I never would have thought of if! I also purchase a lot of clothing online—not vintage, but just regular clothing. I am a tall girl myself, and many clothing items in stores are too short—or they shrink to become too short after washing a few times. Getting my measurements that I need clothing to be is exactly what I need to do! Thank you for the video! Wish my daughter and I could stop by your house for a visit!

  6. Bless your heart, thank you for all the kind words! Yes, us tall girls have to be careful of measurements unless we want to look like the Jolly Green Giant stuffed into a child's dress, he he! I love that you don't have to worry about shrinkage with vintage clothing because it has been washed so many times before. That is, unless you wash something you know you shouldn't and it ends up the size of a dishcloth ;). I would love for you all to visit, wouldn't that be so much fun? I hope you'll come back to see me so we can get to know each other better!
