Another column written by my great-granny in 1974. My scanner is not working, and it was very hard to get clear photos. Hope you can read it, because it tickles me a lot...
There was an old shoe nailed to the wall, a vintage purse with the clasp open, and a graniteware saucepan hanging with the bowl to the wall that always had bird nests in them the whole time I was growing up! The purse has finally rotted away (it was purple velvet at one time!) but the pot is still hanging and the perfect spot for small birds :). This was my dad's grandma, my great-granny, born in 1900. She passed when I was 12 and was one of my favorite people in the world. She is the one that I frequently mention in my posts...
Hey, sugar, I'd love to hear from you! If, for some odd reason, this won't let you comment, please send me a message at mssamwearsdresses@gmail.com. Thanks a ton!
Oh I love this! Do you have an old shoe anywhere for baby birds?!
ReplyDeleteAnd is this your daddy's mamma?
I'll need to go back & read this a few times to really taste it all. Thanks for sharing.
